Sovereign Signs were comissioned by BAM Construction to work alongside them for Playhouse in Leeds to make this fantastic Project.
Sovereign were able to earn a key role within this project by providing signage for the exterior of the Playhouse, with the package including a variety of large format printing, built up individual lettering and bespoke signage solutions.
The sign was created with individual letters, each 800mm high and 400mm deep. The depth of the letters is what makes them such a unique and different piece. Each letter was internally illuminated with SLOAN LED lights to create a beautiful visual look at night. The tricky installation was done so with the letters being fitted with a steel central box section and would be protected against any weather conditions that would hit them for the foreseeable future. As well as this, a lighting strip was incorporated into the design that would work as a conductor, if lighting ever hit, which would send it down into the earth, protecting the sign and the building. These fittings are also designed in a way to be less visible and allow for the letters to appear as though they are floating at nightfall. The project took around 2 months to complete, from initial instruction to proceed to the first phase installation, through to final installation and was done so by 2 men who took just 3 days to get it fully installed.
Director, Ian McKenzie had this to say on the project: "This was such a great project to be involved with, I believe it’s not just a sign we have created here, it’s a landmark. Sovereign Signs should be very proud of themselves; I couldn’t ask for a better team. Thank you BAM Construction for putting your faith in us again for such an amazing project."
