🏗️ Blackpool Central MSCP – Illuminated Signage Installation
📅 Project Overview
The Blackpool Central MSCP project began in March 2022, when CBRE approached us to design and install illuminated signage as part of Blackpool’s major regeneration plans. Leveraging our extensive experience, we created a comprehensive turnkey solution that adhered to the Blackpool Central Elements brand guidelines.

⚙️ Challenges and Solutions
Mounting the Signage
The most significant challenge we faced was connecting the signage to the building’s structure, which involved several design revisions due to changes in the building’s layout and planning restrictions. Key steps taken included:
-
Rainscreen Cladding Integration:
After multiple design calls and team meetings, we developed a solution to mount the signage through the rainscreen cladding using horizontal box section primary steel supports. -
Collaboration with Steel Erectors:
These primary supports, provided by the steel erector, were pre-fabricated with pre-drilled fixing plates. We designed secondary box section carry rails, which were pre-drilled and galvanised, to securely attach the signage. -
CAD Precision:
Since the primary supports were out of our control, precise CAD drawings were essential to ensure the perfect alignment of both primary and secondary supports. Our attention to detail ensured flawless on-site installation without any issues.
🏁 Project Completion
After two years of design revisions and coordination with Blackpool Council, we successfully completed the project and met all expectations. Our client received fantastic feedback for both the process and the final outcome, and we are extremely proud of the result.
✅ Outcome & Client Satisfaction
We delivered a visually impactful, durable, and functional signage solution for the Blackpool Central MSCP project. The signage not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the regeneration area but also serves as a landmark in the city’s ongoing transformation.
